Dupont should be ashamed of themselves. The problem is squarely on their shoulders and not unique to my truck. Yes GM sold the truck, but they used Dupont's coating. It was supplied by Dupont as a system. If Chevrolet Division applied it correctly, and I assume their engineers can read directions, then there is something wrong with Dupont's chemistry. Further, I have visited many body shops to price repainting, and find mine is a comon problem known about for many years. One shop called it "Chevrolet disease", and all claim the problem is with the prime coat which means the body has to be taken down to steel, re-primed, and painted; 1,800 to $2,000 todays dollars worth depending on who you talk to. Five years ago I could have bought all the materials for less than $300.00. He__, for $300.00 I could have bought Imron.
