Since I bought my 2001 Chevy Blazer, I've had to replace ball joints everytime I have a front end alignment. This year I've replaced 3 wheel bearings, fuel pump, and I just lost my transmission. I've had the light recall fixed. My service engine light stays on, but you cannot put a computer to it because it doesn't work. My ABS light comes and goes. Whats next?

My wife and I bought our '01 Chevy Blazer used in 04/05. From the start we had a hard time getting it to engage/disengage 4WD. This last winter my wife, the primary driver, complained that the vehicle had no power while coming home one night and the weeknights following for a week. I checked in the mornings it was fine. Pretty soon we both started noticing the gas gauge bouncing around like it was dancing. My wife thinking she was running out of gas would pull into the first gas station. She would fill up and leave the station only to have it happen again after pulling away from the pump. One month later, her and our 3 small children got stranded when they went in to convenience store. A minute later the Blazer had died and the key in the on position. Replaced the fuel filter and then the fuel pump ($350 just for the pump!!!) the heating element in the pump had fried it. 04/06 the ABS failed and she almost hit a pedestrian. 2 weeks later we start hearing this popping noise when slowing/stopping and accelerating. 05/06 the battery died on her with no warning. Tried jumping it and it wouldn't hold a charge. Got that replaced. Then in 08/06 we didn't drive it because the plates had expired and we couldn't afford to replace them yet. Finally I drove it on 08/13/06 for 1 mle to the store and on my way back while stopping at the stop sign 2 blks from my house, I heard this loud clunk noise and then the vehicle started whinning. Now the thing won't move. It starts and whines, but won't move. Transmission is shot and is going to cost $1600 to replace with me doing the work. And so now, like 90% of the country, I am making a very high car payment except mine is on a car that I can not drive. This and other web sites about vehicle recalls prove that there are some serious issues with these vehicles and nothing is being done about it. What needs to happen is for some one to die B/C of these defects and then U will be scrambling to correct the problems. This is ridiculous.

The consumer owns two GMC vehicles with the same problem. The consumer received nets recall 05V155000 on one of the vehicles but not for the other. The problem was with the fuel module reservoir assembly. Since the VIN was not included they would not correct the problem. (12/02/05) the service engine light soon stayed on and the fuel gauge did not work properly.

Vehicle stopped (at 9:30P.M.) while I was turning a corner. No warning signs/lights/indicators. Mechanic told me the fuel pump had to be replaced. The first fuel pump obtained was defective and leaked. Mechanic just received another fuel pump - back ordered. I am a single mother of a teenager who is supposed to get her license next month. This is the only car we have. So, the consequences have been devastating financially, mentally, and emotionally...now it is christmas eve and we still do not have the car back! the fact that there are other reports of this same dangerous problem with fuel pumps in Chevy Blazer is quite disturbing. I have never had a problem like this with any other make of vehicle (Honda, Toyota, Oldsmobile, mercedesbenz) in the 30 years I've been driving! I have written to Chevrolet and am demanding reimbursement for parts and labor. Am selling vehicle in 2005 - will not have my teenager driving this car.

This complaint cover 2 occurrences, 1st Aug. 19,2002 & the latest of March 3, 2004. My daughter was driving on the freeway both time with her mother, when all of a sudden the engine stalls, and would not restart. Having towed it to the stewart dealership in colma, ca. It was found that the fuel pump had gone bad both times. The 1st occurrence at 32,090 miles, the 2nd at 66,442 miles. The dealership proceeded to tell me that the reason for the first failure, was that my daughter was driving too much with less than 1/2 tank of gas. The repair was made after a delay to get the part which was not in stock in California. Now this afternoon I was informed that the reason the fuel pump went out again was because the fuel filter was completely plugged up. This car was bought new from the same dealership- 03/01/01- now just barely 3 years old it is having it's third fuel pump on it. The fact that is occurrence has happened not just once but twice while driving on a freeway (luckily during day light hours both times).

I have reviewed other owners complaints regarding their front suspension, fuel pump with random shut offs. My vehicle is experiencing the same and similar problems. As of today my vehicle is in the shop;I was doing 35-40 mph when vehicle just un expectedly shut off. I was stranded on a major road which cause a significant traffic delay. I have an oil leak from the hose leading to my oil filter and the vehicle pull to the right sharply if I release the steering wheel. The vehicle makes a popping sound when turning. These problems are hard to find just an isolated incident when so many consumers are having the same problems.
