My 2001 Impala that is in mint condition and has less that 100K on the mileage just caught fire on the top of the motor. I heard a loud boom then seen the fire. I ran to my garage and put the fire out with an extinguisher. This melted the valve cover, some of the injectors wires the plastic intake and damaged the beauty cover.. I am now out of a vehicle. I posted this online to get some ideas of what happened and what do I see, an open recall from General Motors for the specific issue. What are my steps to get this fixed? I contacted different dealerships however they are giving me a run around. I shouldn't have to be the victim of poor design during the manufacturing process nor should I have to be out of a vehicle considering I take great care of my vehicles. Please assist
