Loud ticking noise started. Would start upon starting car. Then progressed to starting when I used remote to unlock doors. Could hear it outside the car. Stayed on longer until I had the actuator replaced. Wasn't more than a couple months later, started again.
Had actuator replaced three times within one year. Mechanic suspected last 2 were due to defective part so covered under parts warranty. Two days after getting it out of shop, guess what? Loud ticking noise AGAIN. Mechanic did research and mentioned several possibilities. HVAC needs reprogramming at dealership, or it could be a module, or could be the main actuator, which is a 12 hour job, and approximate quote, $1500.
Having read so many complaints about this problem, it's a problem that GM hasn't stepped up and done a recall. I will complain to dealership when I take it for reprogramming (starting with least expensive suggestion) and let them know I won't be buying another car from GM.. I will also let them know all the people who have similar complaint. Unsatisfied customers don't make for good business. I am BEYOND frustrated and going broke trying to get this resolved!
