paint fading

The paint fails after about 4.5 years of having the car, keeping it washed and waxed... and the paint fails, for too often I'm seeing so many cars with this problem. When I noticed it, I said it was passed my 3 years 36k miles warranty. Later I found out it wasn't with them. A month before my 5 years was up I took it to Lakeside Chevrolet in Rockwall Texas and asked them to look at it and the noise coming from my rear wheel. It turned out that the wheel bearing was bad and neither was still under warranty, but the paint problem was and they didn't warranty it.
