As I was driving on the freeway, suddenly the steering got very stiff, and became harder and harder to steer. It made it difficult to drive straight, as it was kind of jerking from one side to the other. A warning message came on that said "Power Steering. Drive Carefully"

I managed to drive it home with great stress and difficulty just steering it (not to mention turning the wheel was extremely difficult). The next day, I brought it to the Chevrolet dealer for service. They checked it out and said it had a fault code of "Internal Electric Steering Rack Fault", and said the only way to repair it is to replace it. Total estimate for cost: $2,900.00.

They told me they had not seen this happen before, it was just an unprecedented thing to happen. I asked if Chevrolet would help out with the repair cost (since it was an unusual failure, and nothing I could have possibly done to cause it to happen). Chevrolet said they would help out with $250.00. Not much help if you ask me.

It was a scary event, as I was driving on the freeway with my two daughters in the car! All in all I'm pretty disappointed with Chevrolet that they would not stand behind their product and help me out more with the cost of repairs.
