Takata airbag recall: I have been in contact with the Chevy dealership in my area regarding this recall. I have been told several times that there are no parts or resolution to this issue. Just recently on 11/29/17 I visited classic chevorlet in sugarland Texas and inquired about getting the airbag serviced. The airbag service light in my vehicle has constantly stayed on for the past three months. When I get in to my vehicle the airbag service light comes on and stays on whether it is in motion or parked. I have been waiting for over a year to find out what takata will do to fix this problem. This is a safety concern for me and my family every time we get into my car. Someone needs to find the remedy for this soon before people are seriously hurt or lose their lives.
Takata recall my complaint is, this is from May 2016, why is there still not a fix in place if takata won't fix it then GM should take care of this. It's not safe. Maybe I should get a loner truck until mine is fixed. No one has answers, can someone give me an answer!!
The dash on my 2008 Suburban cracked at around 70,000 miles, in 2012. I reported it then to both my dealer and GM. They called this a cosmetic issue and that they were clearly not responsible, however, many many other Suburban, Tahoe, sliverados, and trucks have the very same issue and at exactly the same spots around the airbag. The cracks are around the passenger side airbag, such that, if the airbag were to deploy, sharp plastic shrapnel would fly into the passenger's face. This is a deadly safety concern that I take extremely serious, such that the situation becomes GM is literally and directly threatening the safety of my family. Pictures are attached which show the safety defect adjacent to the airbag. Please help push GM with addressing this serious deficiency.
Takata inflators. Have waited for over 1 and 1/2 years for this recall to be completed. If they can't fix the vehicle they need to replace it. Just want vehicle repaired or replaced.
