This vehicle has been garaged since it was new yet the dash board has cracks everywhere. There are cracks around the passenger side air bag which I am concerned for my passengers safety as it may be possible if the air bag were to deploy, plastic shrapnel from the defective dash may fly and injure someone.
I had a crack in my dashboard at the corner of where my airbag is stored. This crack could impact the proper execution of the the airbag being deployed. I purchased this vehicle used an at the time it was a hairline crack which led to a large crack and a break in the dashboard.
Dashboards have cracked and failed twice. Sharp edges result from cracking. Unsafe exposure to dashboard wiring--susceptible to moisture, foreign object damage.
The dash on the Suburban has cracked in 2 places. 1 behind the steering wheel and the other behind the passenger airbag area. This is very annoying and noisy, not to mention the danger with the airbag right there.

The dash board on our truck has had a crack in it starting near the windshield and stretching towards the instrument panel. No know reason. The crack continues to grow and is already half way up the dash.
Dashboard is cracked. I understand there is a lawsuit about it. Our vehicle is not part of takata air bag recall even though it has spent plenty of time in the southern states that are part of the recall.
I was driving on a nicely paved road (no bombs, potholes, etc...) when all of a sudden my dashboard cracked! it is now rattling and jiggling and causes a distraction to my line of sight as I'm driving. I went to my dealership and was told that it is not covered under my warranty and I will have to pay the whole amount out of pocket to have it repaired.
Dashboard is cracked in several places now - 1st crack was top of dash behind instrument cluster. 2nd crack now at passenger side airbag area at the top of the dash. In 2015, the vehicle was taken to the dealership to have it addressed. Service manager said there was nothing he could do but another manager stated it was a known problem with the Suburban. Chevy rep was suppose to inspect but nothing was conveyed back to me. I did not actually see the dash crack at the time it happened, so it must have been while the vehicle was stationary. The vehicle is always parked in a garage and now only has 58,000 miles on it (almost 5 years old). This can be a major safety issue in the event of an airbag deployment. Pieces of the dash could become deadly weapons in the event the airbags deploy. This appears to be a common problem that should be addressed by the manufacturer since it can be a major safety issue when broken pieces of dash go flying around the interior of the vehicle and injure or possible kill a passenger.
The dash board continues to crack to the point where it will be cracked clear through. Any kind of impact could cause the dashboard to fragment and fly into the cabin causing harm to the occupants. Additionally the dashboard is cracked where the dashboard airbag is deployed, so in the event of an airbag deployment dashboard pieces will also fly into the cabin harming occupants. This dashboard is a clear safety hazard and GM should be forced to replace all dashboards for the affected models.
Dashboard has a crack by airbag and another is starting on top of steering wheel and is spreading. Never used any products on dash just damp cloth to dust. Worried if airbag deploys sharp objects from dash will cause injury.
