When I purchased my suburban used, it had 25,000 miles. Within a week, we had trouble with the power lift gate. It was certified and still under warranty, so the dealership fixed it. Replaced the motor/actuator. 80,000 miles later the lift gate won't open sporadically. When you first try to push the button to open it, you can hear it trying to open but sounds like it then closes. Sometimes it will open on the first try and sometimes it wouldn't. Sometimes I would come back 5 or 10 minutes later, and it would open. A couple of days ago, I tried at least 10 different times, with 10 or more minutes in between and could not get it to open. Such a pain, as we were at a baseball tournament and had tons of stuff in the back to get out!!! I turned the switch inside the car to "off" and was able to manually open it yesterday and today, the two times I tried it.
looking at the parts, I am not sure what to replace. There are 2 sensors that are cheap, but the Acuator and Control Module are close to $100.
Any suggestions?
