This is a very random issue, sometimes it happens a lot other times I can go days without seeing it. Happens at night, day, hot, cold, and appears to be a fault of the screen or capacitive touch function.
It's like a ghost is pushing on the nav screen. Always seems to be on the left edge or right edge of the screen about half way down. A real pain when you are trying to navigate maps as it clicks away from your map view. Sometimes will randomly FaceTime as well. Doesn't matter if a phone is connected either.
This is a known problem (has been for many years with Suburban and other GMC vehicles but GM has done nothing. GM known for their electrical issues so it is expected. There are a few YouTube videos with fixes which involve replacing the whole screen and head unit. This can be done with after-market and maybe costs about 1000 plus your time (not a simple switch). Chevy service centers can also replace with about a $2000 price or so. Guess I'll buy a Honda or Toyota next time instead.
