- Summary
- This Preliminary Information communication advises the technician of a customer concern where the heated seat indicator light is not functioning or the heated seats are not up to operating temperature during a remote vehicle start event. This is normal operation of the heated seat during a remote vehicle start event. The electronic climate control module is not in a complete wake up state during a remote vehicle start mode and will not enable the light emitting diode. After a cold soak below 32 degrees Fahrenheit the seat will not get hot in the 10 minutes or less of the remote vehicle start mode. This is due to the fact that the heat element is not in direct contract with the seat surface while the seat is unoccupied and the foam below the heater is full cold insulating air which takes time to heat up. Technician is to communicate to the customer this condition is a normal operating characteristic of their vehicle. It will not impact the designed performance or reliability of the vehicle.
