1995 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4 with numerous problems. Customer states his vehicle was towed to the dealer for a recall repair and the front coil spring seats to be repaired because they were unsafe. He stated the truck needed and had other repairs too. The consumer stated the dealer did not comply with the recall. The dealer welded reinforcement brackets to the towers and did not check for cracks. The consumer also stated as he left the dealer, he hit a bump and the hood popped open. Consequently, the consumer crashed into the jersey barriers.
1995 Dodge Ram 2500 with recalls concerns customer states that the recalls have not been fix by the dealer and it almost got him killed* the consumer stated there was a recall on the secondary hood latch and the dealer told him they could not perform the recall, because the primary latch was defective. Upon leaving the dealership, the consumer hit a bump and the hood flew up over the windshield, which caused the consumer to loose control of the vehicle, and subsequently hit a jersey barrier. The consumer also stated the dealer didn't perform the coil spring tower recall sufficiently. The consumer stated the dealer didn't use a wrench, they just tack welded the plate on each tower. The recall was suppose to take 5 hours, however the consumer stated they were done in 15 minutes.
While driving, the hood flew open and damaged the hood. The consumer was notified of a recall on the hood latch, but the vehicle identification number did not pertain to the vehicle. The consumer received recall letter after the incident. (#01V040000)
Throttle control cable was repaired under campaign id 01V037000. Less than 500 miles later, throttle cable failed while driving. Vehicle checked by another dealer, who advised consumer that recall repairs did not properly repair the first time. Dealer advised consumer that first dealer did not add all necessary components. Consumer states hood latch and ignition switch repaired under recall campaign (01V-040 and 00V-135) but failed again.

While driving vehicle stalled out. Transmission blewout which was caused by pressure clip on line blowing off, all the fuel ran out.*also, there were 5 recalls, dealer only fixed one, hood latch.
While driving at 55mph hood flew open and shattered front windshield, causing consumer to pull over. Cause unknown. Dealer notified. Consumer states problem occurred due to a faulty hood latch.
While traveling about 2 or 3 miles from home suddenly the hood flew up and obstructed view and broke hood and winshield. Fortunetly, there was no other traffic on the road. This just happened and we looked on the internet to see if there were problems with the hood and the latch. We will contact the dealership and discuss problem. Please advise of necessary steps. Hood latch disengaged without warning while vehicle was in operation. Consumer had hood tied down at the moment to prevent this from happening. Consumer was informed by manufacturer that this vehicle was not included in recall 95V056000. Only vehicle's registered on East coast were included in recall.
While driving between 60 -62 mph hood flew open. In 1995 there was a recall on hood latch. Consumer was never notified of recall. Dodge co insisted recall was performed on this vehicle.
95V056ooo/hood assembly:latches; 97V084000/transmission cooling line; 97V199 000/fuel tank rollover valve, and 00V135000/ignition swtich wiring. Consumer received recall notices since Mar 1995, and still was unable to get dealer to honor the recalls because of no parts being available. Dealer would call and tell consumer to bring vehicle in for a part that was available. However, when consumer arrived the part was already given to someone else. Asking help from NHTSA in this matter. Feel free to provide any further details.
