There is no reason why I should be having a problem(e.g. accident or abuse). My right rear wheel is getting a slight amount of oil or grease on the brakes, not enough to run down the tire but enough to get tacky on the brakes. As a rusult, the brakes grab real hard to the point that when the brakes are applied the right rear wheel locks up. Once stopped and release the brakes they stick then release with a hard thud. Very annoying not to mention dangerous especially in snow.I cannot afford to take it to a dealer so I guess I'm on my own.

Rear drum brakes driver side self adjusted into the drum causing the brakes to wear down very quickly to the metal surface. On inspection the adjuster mechanism looked fine. Right side rear brakes looked fine. Inspection 3 months ago was fine. At the time of the failure vehicle was towing a travel trailer. In my 35 years of driving I have never seen brake system do this type of failure. Brake system are far too crucial just to pass this off as a fluke (quoting the dealership ).

The brakes pulled right and the right side caliper was replaced. Now the brakes are pulling left. It seems the calipers are defective as the rubber seals deteriorate with heat. I have contacted several other Ram 4X4 owners who have experienced the same problem. The dealer (tuttle-click, irvine, ca) was very good about repairing under warranty.

The brakes have been pulling to either the left or the right when stopping. This happens at all speeds but is always worse at higher speeds or when loaded. They have replaced the pads three times, roters twice and have aligned the rear wheels, and the problem continues to be the same. The brakes are sluggish and when stopping quickly causes severe pulling and seems to not stop as quickly as could be.
