CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Edge has its fair share of problems, but chief among them is an annoying “door ajar” warning light that won’t shut off even when the door is most definitely closed. While the retina-burning, ever-present false reminder on your dashboard is bad, it points to a deeper problem that can drain the battery, leave the doors unlocked while in motion, or render the key fob useless.

Ford My Touch Sync is garbage. Just bought the car as a certified preowned vehicle and off the lot the screen froze. The entire system will not work. Radio, navigation, a/c, bluetooth everything is frozen. I've tried updating it, turning the car off and back on. Took it back to the dealer and they told me they don't see a problem with it -_-

I purchased my 2013 Edge in Sept. 2012 and the navigation and everything worked fine until I did the software update to version 3.5.1. Since then, 1 out of every 4 times I start the car, the navigation starts loading but encounters an error. I took my car to the dealer and they replaced the hub where the navigation card plugs in but that did not work. On the next trip, they replaced the navigation sd card, but that did not work either. I am still making trips back to my ford dealer to fix a problem that was not there before the software update. It feels like a software glitch but that is a problem that only the Ford Touch people can solve, meanwhile I have a system that does not work properly.

Update from Jun 18, 2013: I replaced my cell phone and the problem disappeared. The problem must have been that the software update made my previous cell phone (Nokia E5) not work properly with the Ford Sync. I have had my new cell phone for about 2 months and everything works as it should.

Update from Jul 24, 2014: Found the solution by chance. Replaced my previous Nokia E5 cell phone with a new Google Nexus android phone, and problem solved. Evidently the Ford bluetooth connection to the Nokia phone caused the MyFord Touch system to act up. It has been over a year since I changed phones and have not had the problem again.
