CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Edge has its fair share of problems, but chief among them is an annoying “door ajar” warning light that won’t shut off even when the door is most definitely closed. While the retina-burning, ever-present false reminder on your dashboard is bad, it points to a deeper problem that can drain the battery, leave the doors unlocked while in motion, or render the key fob useless.

I can feel my driver seat slide forward/back, particularly when backing out of my driveway then driving forward. Slight annoyance, but that's about it.

My husband came home scared for me to drive the car- the driver side seat is loose- or at least that's what it feels like. The seat rocks forward and backwards when taking off or hitting the brakes. Evidently this is a known problem for Edges- in my research there are complaints of this happening for years. The seat rails seem to be to blame. The seat is no longer moving in all directions it used to either.

This is now the 3rd major thing gone wrong- a door ajar light which needed the drivers side door latch assy ($537) replaced at 88k, the brake booster assy needed replacing at 107k ($757) and now this- who knows how much. Our 02' Honda Odyssey has 286k and Toyota Tundra 299k and neither had any problems or expense other that normal maintenance. We will not be buying another American brand.
