"door ajar" light kept coming on, started early 2015 while in warranty. It was repaired but is now doing it again as of Aug., 2016 and out of warranty. Also, dome lights will not turn off sometimes.

Door ajar light stays on and won't register when the front driver's side door is shut. Lights will not dim while driving or parked, locks will not work properly either. Battery is being drained because of the faulty sensor. Ford will not cover repairs, even though my vehicle is still under warranty.

In addition, upon exiting the vehicle, the dome light remained illuminated and the contact had to close the doors several times to get the light to dim. The driver's door warning drivers door is ajar will not go off. Even when car is off, lights remain on inside the car. While driving, light and warning continually stay on, doors will not lock because sensor for door remains on. When I come to a stop while car is running, warning to shift car to park will come on..this is a huge safety problem with little children in car.. doors will not stay locked..
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. While the vehicle was parked, the door ajar warning indicator for the front driver's side door illuminated and a chime sounded even though all the doors were closed. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that a sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000. The VIN was unavailable.

The door ajar light was continuing to turn on, even while driving, creating an unsafe driving situation as all the interior lights come on and will not turn off until you pull over, put the car in park, open the door, push in the door latch, and then shut it again and again until the door ajar comes off. I had this fixed at while still under warranty. It started doing this again less than 6 months later. I was then informed that the drivers door latch is faulty and the switch inside is causing the light to stay on. It is recommended to replace the lf door latch at $445. It was "cleaned" according to the service gentlemen, but not replaced in January when it was still under warranty. He said it will do the same thing it currently is in about 6 months if they just clean it again and not replace it. It is a hazard while driving and a huge safety concern. I am unsure why it would not have been replaced originally. I assumed when I took it in it had been fixed and replaced, not just cleaned.
The driver side door ajar sensor fails to detect that the door is closed and latched. This causes the automatic door locks to unlock the doors even when the vehicle is in motion. This can be a safety issue in the event of a collision.
My 2013 Ford Edge keeps saying the driver side door is ajar, chimes keep going off, the dome light keeps going off & on & I am unable to lock my doors. This is a huge safety concern especially with my 4 year old in the car with me. And now they recall 1.5 million vehicles because the doors can fly open!"!?! where is the recall on my vehicle???????? are you all waiting on fatalities?!?!"! come on Ford!!
Driver door ajar warning. Cannot lock doors, interior lights go on, warning chime sounds. Very dangerous especially at night with the interior lights on with doors unlocked. Dealer said no recall. Had to pay $366.10 for a "possible" fix by cleaning contact latch with tool and recycled per tsb 15-0013.
Was driving approx. 45 mph coming thru a 5 corners major intersection at peak traffic time of 5:15pm. Driving on state farm to market road in town of 100K residents. Had been driving approx. 3 miles. Temp in 80's, roads dry. Complete loss of power, nearly rear ended. Car crept a little, moved to middle turn lane, strong forward lurch/jerk, yellow wrench light on. Put car in park, turned it off. Tried to start, nothing. Sat about a minute, tried, started. Limped to parking lot. Turned vehicle off, sat for about 20 minutes. Then took route home going thru subdivisions where stall would not jeapordize life. Could not drive to dealer as that would involve highway, and risk of fatal accident. I was very fortunate today, have never been that scared driving a vehicle in 40 yrs of driving.
A faulty switch in driver door causing a constant faulty driver door ajar alarm in car...dome light stays on at night while car is in reverse...doors will not lock while driving because the sensor is saying that the door is open...after parking/shutdown lights remain on additional minutes, again sensing that the door is open causing un-needed battery drain...no recall...$400 repair to replace a cheap faulty door switch...many people complaining on internet about this very problem...
Driver's door sensor does not work properly making it seem the door is open when it is not. Doors cannot be locked making for unsafe conditions for passengers. Carjacking very possible!
The door open warning light stays on even when its closed, this is not allowing the doors to close properly, this also causes the panic alarm to go off and it keeps the dome light on while driving causing glare at night due to the bright dome light staying on. This also drains the batter due to the constant intirior lights staying on when the car is parked and closed
