Driver door ajar light would not go off, even though the door seemed to be closed. Thus doors would not lock and occasionally warning lights would flash, distracting me as I drove. I took the car to my local Ford dealer and was told it was a faulty front door latch, which they replaced for $425.65. See #2 on the attached.
The door ajar indicator remains lit even when door is properly secured. This results in the interior lighting remaining on and failure of the door locks to properly activate, even at highway speed. I am a former investigator for the U.S. dot and I find this to be a very dangerous situation which should be recalled. If the doors are not properly locked there is an increased risk to occupants of the vehicle in the event of a crash.
