As I was driving, the accelerator pedal suddenly stopped responding and the wrench and check engine lights came on. I was able to pull over and put on the hazard lights. After turning the engine off and restarting, the accelerator pedal responded again and I was able to drive for a short while before it failed again. This was very dangerous. I repeated this cycle until I was able to get the car to the dealership, where I was notified that the codes indicated a faulty throttle body. The dealership has advised the part is on backorder and won't be available for at least two weeks, which means I won't be able to drive the car (the extended warranty does not provide a rental due to backordered parts). This is now very inconvenient. Please note that the transmission was already completely replaced on this vehicle at around 30K miles, along with a failed power window motor, rear glass hatch seals, etc.

My Ford Escape is a 2009, 3 year old car with regular maintenance checks. On July 12th, I opened and closed the driver door and the window slid down. Once taken to get diagnosed, I was told the regular cable had gone out. I had it fixed and was on my way. On July 16th, just 4 days after, I was picking up dry cleaning, I put clothes in the back seat, and once the door was closed, same thing happened, window slowly slid down. No opening/closing windows to provoke it. I was told once again it was the regulator cable and needed to be replaced. Both problems exactly the same, within 4 days of each other. All mechanics and service reps told me it was very unusual that the regulator go out on such a new car. Called Ford corporate and was unable to get assistance to pay for this defect. How can a 3 year old car with no extreme use of the power windows be capable of such problems? the car is defective and Ford should've paid for the repair.
