CarComplaints.com Notes: The top problem trend for the 2014 Escape is transmission failure at around 70k miles.

This is relatively low mileage for an expensive transmission failure ($4,500 average to fix), but unless the trend becomes more established, we are only awarding the 2014 Escape our "Beware of the Clunker" badge for now.

2014 Ford Escape Titanium with $160K miles. Vehicle shakes profusely and shuts off while in Drive position but at a stop position. I expected the vehicle to not have to replace transmission completely while still paying off the loan. I've have another escape with less mileage at 140K and the transmission isn't switching to gear 3 and up while driving. Done with purchasing the Escape.
