2016 Escape purchased from Sarat Ford, Agawam, MA on 6/2/16-
On 06/11/16- When I went to pick up my Escape after reporting to service that my hands free lift gate did not work - the service writer had told me he did not think they worked with the Towing package and that he thought the sensors were blocked. I was told that my Escape did not come with the hands free feature. I told him that I paid $495.00 for the lift gate and he said that was for the button on the key chain. I read where other owners reported this problem as well.
I can not open the rear hatch with the foot it will unlatch but not raise. It has the tow package and I am wondering if this has some bearing on the problem although I know it shouldn't. It opens fine with the button on the dash and the button on the hatch. That is why I suspect the Tow package.
