How can the back brakes rust and corrode so quickly and the front brakes have no problems. I never heard of brakes going at a little over 20,000 miles. I am retired and can't afford to replace brakes so quickly. NO MORE FORDS FOR ME!!!!

Never buy a FORD. I purchased a 2016 Ford Escape SE on January 19th, 2017. It had 45,000 miles and it Pre-Owner Certified, 172 point inspection. WIthin 5 days I complained about the brakes screaming and they tried to repair them 5 different times. They stated that they put in new rotors and pads. They have NEVER stopped screaming. It is August 2, 2018 and they scream every time I drive the car.

I had contacted out Washington State Attorney General and was told the Pre- Owned Certified 172 point inspection mean nothing and is a marketing tool. He also stated that their was nothing he could do...So here I am driving a car that is deficient and should have never been sold to anyone.

My rotors currently look a little like a record...grooves. NEVER BUY A FORD!!

Next car will be a HONDA.. great service and great cars.

This is an ongoing issue with this vehicle. It started a 'pulsing' brake issue back in 2017. The dealer replaced the front rotors and turned the rear ones. Still made noise. Went back a second time for brake noise. They replaced the pads. Still made noise...metal on metal grinding noise. Third time back. replaced rear rotors and that seemed to work, for a while. Now the brakes make a new noise and occasionally the right front brake hangs up and I smell the burning brake smell. I knew it was the right front when I took it to the car wash and that wheel showed a lot of steam when water was applied. The others didn't. Now. A few months later, the brakes are just loud...not grinding but loud especially when first starting out. Haven't gone back to the dealer with this yet, but have told them about the brake hanging up and nothing was done.
