I purchased a 2016 Ford Escape in 12/2016 with only 15,000-ish miles on it from Diamond Auto in Auburn, MA. The first year it was fine then suddenly I started having issues with it not starting, mostly in the colder weather. I had the engine checked by my mechanic who said there were a bunch of codes coming up (they did not have the book for the codes because at the time Ford would not release them) and the battery was showing it was not holing a charge. I brought it back to the dealer as it was under warranty and they said there was nothing wrong with the engine and there were no codes! Took it to a different dealer and had it rechecked. They said maybe my trailer hitch harness was causing the issue but replaced the battery anyway. I removed the fuse for the hitch, still having issues with it not starting. Again mostly in the cold weather. I have to go and start it every other day in milder weather and every day in cold weather to keep the battery charged otherwise it will not start. I decided I needed to purchase a car charger/jumper because the warranty will only allow for so many jumps before they start charging me. Love vehicle but I should not have to start it everyday if I am not going anywhere and wasting my gas! I am pretty sure this is why the first owners traded it in for a pick up (per salesman) even though I was told there was nothing wrong with it. Should of changed my mind about it when I went to pick up the vehicle and there was chip in the windshield right in my line of vision and they wanted me to use my insurance to have it fixed! I pushed back and they finally did fix it but really?
