2016 Ford Escape purchased at Sarat Ford in Agawam on 6/02/16

10:16 am called Jeff Sarat- said Ford got back to him and that Rusty parts was a normal condition and that it will not spread (he received a text message) he went on to say that the vehicle is safe. I asked if Ford was willing to put that in writing and he said doubted it but that what he was willing to do was put in writing that it is not a safety issue and will give a 10 year warranty on replacement of any rusted parts. I asked if he reported to them the correct part and he said yes the Spindle – and I said you know that part is connected to the suspension system of the vehicle. He said yes but it was not a safety concern (BULL!). He said he would write a letter and I could pick it up and the vehicle – which I did not want to drive as I felt it was a huge safety issue and worried about my own liability for driving it while I was 100% sure it was unsafe and my own life and the lives of others.

Update from Nov 13, 2016: 2016 Ford Rust Escape purchased at Sarat Ford in Agawam on 06/02/16

Friday 6/17/16 11:45 am Denise- Ford Customer Service- assisting Marie- started telling my story- stopped me in the middle and said she got in contact with dealership and need them to respond would give them until Monday will call me back.

Monday 6/20/16 Call from Marie Ford Customer Service– case number 9830145- sited exact language as stated on Ford response dated 6/14/16- Her supervisor Rose Rodgers – conveniently had no extension to give out – gave Ford Motor Company address to write letter. I asked her if she was aware of the Massachusetts Lemon Law- she said they were aware of all states lemon laws- I told her that this vehicle was unsafe and she responded that their technician were professionals and I asked her with how much experience? Because my husband worked in metal for 37 years and while I was not an expert like he was, I did know that rust is unsafe.

Update from Nov 13, 2016: 2016 Ford Escape purchased at Sarat Ford in Agawam, MA on 06/02/16

Wednesday 6/22/16 -7:05 AM- Filled out Ford’s customer satisfaction survey. Ford customer satisfaction survey: Completely DISSATISFIED with Ford and Dealership (Sarat Ford of Agawam, MA) regarding my 2016 Escape purchased as brand new on 6/2/16 with RUSTED SPINDLES ON THE FRONT AND REAR, that RUST Has already spread to other parts of the vehicle including SWAY BAR, DRIVE SHAFT, SHOCKS, EXHAUST, and those are just the parts I can name and recognize. This vehicle sat on the dealers lot for 6 months (they took delivery in January). They sold it to me as BRAND NEW with 9 miles on it. It is completely unbelievable to me that this BRAND NEW Vehicle HAS RUST, but worse than that is the responses received from the DEALERSHIP AND FORD regarding the RUST!!!! NEWSFLASH FOR FORD - RUST IS NOT NORMAL FOR A BRAND NEW VEHICLE AND CERTAINLY WILL NOT LAST. RUST SPREADS AND THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE NOW AND WILL ALWAYS BE UNSAFE. I PLAN TO PURSUE THIS UNTIL MY DYING DAY WHICH WILL PROBABLY BE IN THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE. I can not believe the way I have been treated by Ford and the dealership and plan to pursue this to the full limits of the Massachusetts Lemon Law- I originally only wanted the vehicle fixed- now I want my money back, and I hope I am able to find a lawyer that will sue the dealership and Ford for putting me through all this during my grieving for my husband’s death and that there is a judge out there that will award me for all these sleepless nights, amount of time and grief this piece of junk is giving me.
