This is the quality that we the consumers are getting from Made in America, it is not only this vehicle there are more; this is the reflection of the quality work that american work shows, "just sh*tty work" why this country went down? ask yourself.

Explorer Eddie Bauer 5.0L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

The LCD screen on the radio in my explorer just blacked out and really hasnt worked since. Thankfully, i had all my stations pre-programmed so i can still listen, but it is definitely annoying because i cant see what time it is, cant look at any other radio stations, and the station information (scrolling message that says station name, slogan, song name...) is gone too. I have only had the screen work once or twice since the problem occurred several years ago, and it has been 1) on the way to las vegas, 115 degrees, and 2) sitting in the sun on a hot say here at home. so my guess is that it may be some kind of soldering issue... intense heat brings connections back to life, but only for a little bit... maybe an hour or so

he radio display has simply "disappeared" which drives my wife crazy, thereby increasing my stress level. Also the AM band is full of static only when the engine is running. Any suggestions on repairing?

Okay, I about a year ago I bought a 98 ford explorer, the car of my dreams, Anyways, about 2 wks later my radio shuts off by itself and swallowed one of my CD's!!!!! I haven't been able to take it out. Anywhose I love everything in my car but it really drives me nuts when I have to turn up the volume and it won't turn up the volume or it will shut off on its own and won't come back on. PLEASE HELP ME before I yank the stereo out and throw it out the window....
