PE00020; tire tread separation: While driving at 70 mph tread on front driver's side tire came off. Driver lost control of vehicle and crashed into a guardrail. Driver was the only passenger in Explorer, and did sustain injuries. Tire was a Firestone, wilderness, ATX, tire size P25570R16, and was original equipment. Firestone was not contacted about tire.

SUV was equipped with Firestone wilderness tires. Right rear tire blewout due to tread separation while traveling at 45 mph. Dealer has been contacted.
Firestone wilderness ATX tires(P23575R15 original equipment on a 98 Explorer. Tread is cracking at the sidewall. Dealer has been notified. All tires were replaced due to recall and faulty tires, the dot #vhdl.

PE00020; tire tread separation: Consumer was traveling about 70mph on freeway and vehicle dropped and flew to the left, and started rolling. Consumer had lost control of vehicle. Consumer was traveling about 50mph. And heard a loud noise. She pulled over to the side of the road, and discovered that tire was flat and rim had cut into the tire. Driver's side tire was destroyed.
I was driving to work in the morning at about 75 miles per hour, when I heard a loud noise and my Explorer became very hard to handle on the road. I was able to get to the shoulder of the road safely. I went to inspect the damage and found that the tread of my right front tire had completely peeled off. While driving on I-35 going about 70 mph the tread on the left rear tire of our Explorer separated. This caused the Explorer go to into a 540 degree spin. While spinning the Explorer stuck a car in the adjacent lane twice, once with the front and once with the back of the Explorer.
