My power seat (for years now) will randomly move back while I am driving and interior lights come on.....this is annoying and a safety concern as I have short legs and I have to quickly move the seat back up. I have never kept more than one key on my key ring. It will do it sometimes 3 times in a row and then not again for a week, a month, or months. It has been occurring a few years now. Yesterday, it happened 5 times with the 10 minute drive home! I am surprised to see how often this has occurred and Ford has not recalled or addressed this issue!

I traded in my 02 Mountaineer for the 08 Explorer in may 2012 one week after driving it off the lot as we were on the turnpike the seat moved all the way back and the interior lights came on. We took it back to the dealer they determined it was something with the cylinder and fixed it. (they tried to charge me claiming a 50% discount - are you kidding me we just bought this vehicle from you - OpenRoad Mazda or New Brunswick, NJ)

This car is hardly driven and only on weekends so it will take us some time to figure out if there is a problem. a few months of driving the problem started recurring again. I called the dealer about the problem and they explained that the vehicle is now off warranty and I did not purchase their extended warranty. I decided rather than to fight with them and be further aggravated about what I have and don't have (and yes let me remind you that I just purchased this vehicle from you 3 months ago and complaining about the same problem) I took it to Ford for better service and perhaps more accurate diagnosis. $400 later and a new something following by same recurring problem 3-4 months later and $220 later for another repair of another part and confirmation that this should be the end all to the problem I am not 2 months later and having the same recurring problem. When is enough going to be enough? This is a safety issue people - lets stop playing costly guessing games on what could possible be the problem.

after 5 months of owning the vehicle the problem that we encountered the day we drove off the lot, and the Dealer fixed, is still recurring. took it to ford they said we needed to replace a part (includes or surrounds loccated by the ignition switch that is internal) $400 later it seemed to fix the problem, but a few months later the problem is back. Again I only use this vehicle on the the weekends.
