Firstly; I am a Ford retired worker and I am compelled to own only Ford vehicles. That being said, I still believe I would purchase another Ford no matter what even though my vehicles transmission is failing, and it shouldn't be at only 79000 miles. I really believe that Ford Motor Company is not caring about its customers after the sale, only making that big dollar and leaving us customers in the lurch. I did have a warranty but, it wasn't worth the paper it was written on since when I did take it in they wouldn't actually do anything, and then say they couldn't find anything wrong. They did however, reprogram the transmission only to make it worse on a separate starting out in 2nd gear and lurch issue.

Bottom line, I know it is a big screw job having to buy cars with all the electronics on them, and especially as it pertains to transmissions making them destined to fail sooner. The days of the good old school, non compacted, instead of these newer high gear ratio transmissions are gone forever I'm afraid, but the older style reliable units, they were the best they could ever be. They can stick all this electronics in the excrement pile because it doesn't belong in vehicles to the degree that it is today! What I'm saying is, I want a normal automatic transmission and not with electronic garbage controlling it, and I want it designed and built the way they used to be up to a 4 speed designed automatic, not a six speed clunker automatic that's stupid and not useful at all!

Update from Jan 28, 2023: So, recently I took my car in for a failed fuel pump replacement and a fuel tank vapor sensor. They replaced both parts. I made no mention of the popping in and out of what seemed to be torque convertor lockup as mentioned in my complaint already.. The reason I say seemed because higher highway speeds this went away so it was load sensitive. Selecting no overdrive range was always fine likely due to higher rpm and different loading, so one had to assume it was lockup since even a fancy tester at transmission shop wouldn't problem after extensive road testing. So it seems that the transmission is fine now and after a good number of miles it has not done this again. Scotty Kilmer on you tube stated, transmission shift problems can be some sensor causing it and fool you. The shop that repaired my car, not trans shop, said this fuel vapor sensor was affecting other sensors. So, herein is my complaint, it should not be this difficult that a seasoned transmission shop road testing with the best tester money can buy can't definitively figure it out.
