Hankook Ventus S1 Noble 2 P255R20 A/S BSW Tires 23,041 miles 2017 Ford Explorer Sport. These are the tires that came on the vehicle, there is only 23,041 miles on the vehicle and the tires are prematurely wearing on the outerside of all 4 tires. Chunks of the tire is pealing off. Hazardous to drive. The vehicle is not out of line, tires are rotated on schedule, and tire pressure maintained. Looks like defective tires, need to be investigated as safety recall. Ford Motor Company is aware of the problem and stated that we need they have a problem with those tires pealing and wearing out, most people have to replace around 20,000 to 30,000 miles. VERY DANGEROUS! I have safety inspections that shows tire are perfect.

On 5/21/2021 a Police Officer for the Iowa Tribe Police Department located in Perkins, Oklahoma was responding to a call and had just been canceled when the driver-side rear tire tread separated from the tire and it blew out. The officer's safety was at risk had she not been canceled and slowed down some or this could've resulted in a rollover or some other traffic collision possibly injuring or killing the officer or other individuals on the roadway. Direct Discount Tire in Stillwater Oklahoma is unaware of any recalls with this tire and have offered to help replace the tire. The tire hasn't been inspected by the manufacturer as I am unaware who manufactured this tire. Upon researching Nokian tire through the internet I discovered that Nokian Tires have had issues in the past for tread separation. The earliest I could fine may have been around 2016. There were no warning lamps and these tires were purchased and put on this vehicle brand new since February 2021. My concern is that there may be a manufacture default causing these tires to have tread separation. I am concerned because this is the brand of tire recommended for police unit bu Direct Discount. I am concerned an officer could be injured or killed in a crash if this is a defect by the manufacturer and we are getting much needed patrol vehicle tore up in the process.

First complaint is the paint is peeling and bubbles from the front of hood. This was fixed by Ford 1 year ago and told was not sure why this was happening. Now again all along hood at front same problems. Second complaint. The rear tires are wearing at the outside and inside of tread. The drivers side seems to be worse. It needs tires now due to safety concerns that I know have. The vehicle seems to be unsteady at grade changes in roadway especially on the freeway.

I have hankook tires on my Ford Explorer. Bought it new with these. Less than 25,000 miles and they look to be tearing up all over. Hankook says there's no warranty on their tires. Technician says I need them changed right away or they will 'blow out.'

I purchased a 2017 Ford Explorer XLT and after 20,000 miles I was told the tires needed to be replaced. I agree with the service man and am looking to replace them. I looked at the tires, hankook, venous S1noble 2, 255/50R20 105H and saw the dot date was 002881, 2012.. if I'm reading this correct the tires were five years old upon buying the vehicle and they are now seven years old with 20,000 miles on them. I believe they are unsafe and were probable unsafe when I bought the vehicle

Oem hankook tires on 2017 Ford Explorer: With less than 15,000 miles on my 2017 Explorer, it began to hydroplane at much lower speeds than when new. The tires are oem, hankook, ventus S1 noble. I took the car to fugate Ford, who said they recently processed two other vehicles with bad hankook tires. On closer inspection with doug at fugate, you could see the tire tread was ripping away from itself all the way around the tire. Fugate took pictures and phoned hankook. Fugate called me to say that because the tires had 6/32 tread remaining, they would not process the claim. Hankook needed the tread wear to be 4/32 or less. In my view, that's ridiculous... these hankook tires are defective and unsafe, whether at 6/32 or 4/32. Today, I had all four defective tires replaced.

Hankook ventus S1 noble2 (excluded from recall) are wearing extraordinary fast and the rubber is starting to pull apart, flake away. Chucks of rubber are coming off of the tire and leaving holes that appear to be about 1/4 inch deep. This will be our second set of tires with the same issue and the vehicle has only 40,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Explorer equipped with hankook ventus S1 noble 2 H452 tires, size: 255/50R20. The contact stated that chunks and pieces of the rubber detached from the tires. The vehicle was taken to superior Ford (4303 la-19, zachary, la 70791, 225-654-2611) where it was determined that the tire manufacturer would only cover sixty percent of the tire replacement after 12,000 miles. The vehicle manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The tires were not replaced. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was 12,200.
