WENT TO OPEN DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND THE HANDLE MOVED AND NOTHING HAPPENED. NOW I HAVE TO LEAVE WINDOW DOWN TO OPEN FROM INSIDE OR ENTER FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE AND OPEN OR SLIDE OVER. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM AND WANT TO KNOW WHY FORD HAS NOT SEEN TO DO A RECALL. I WAS NOT IS AN ACCIDENT THAT CAUSED PROBLEM. I DO NOT HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN THAT PLAY WITH THE DOOR HANDLES AND LOCKS. FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP AND TAKE CARE OF THESE ISSUES. IF THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL REPORTED HOW MANY ARE OUT THERE THAT HAVE NOT BEEN REPORTED?

Focus ZX4 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

The driver's side door will not open from the outside. 90% of the time has to be opened from back seat or passenger side. This is a real problem if you had to get into the car in an emergency or if you had an accident and someone wanted to help they couldn't unless you opened it for them, if you are conscious great, if not -too bad. This is the second Focus this has happened on and I won't buy another one.

Focus ZX4 SE 2.0L

Last winter (2009) about the same time I started having problems with half of my dash lights disappearing, my locks began to work only sometimes. If I exited the car and locked it with the remote it would not unlock, the only door that would unlock was the front passenger side door. So you'd have to unlock that door and climb over the friggin seat! Talk about a moving death trap! Then if the all of the doors did happen to unlock from the outside, once you were IN the car sometimes it wouldn't let you OUT! The car has auto lock a few seconds after you start the ignition and I noticed that also sounded weird and LOUD, like it was struggling to lock the doors. I bring the car back to the dealership, again, they tell me NOTHING IS WRONG!! One of the mechanics even took the car home overnight to see if it would happen to him (he says it didn't), and that everything was reading okay with the vehicle. Then out of nowhere this problem disappeared (for a while). Once Spring came and it was raining often again the problem reappeared. This time it brought friends... so now on top of that problem, all of the outside door handles would lock and not move. Called the dealership, they told me to use Wd-40 on all the handles, I did. Coming out of the grocery store one day I went to get into the car and the handle just came loose, not off the car, it didn't break or come off, you could tell it just wasn't connected to anything. Again I'm stuck climbing over seats to get home. Bring it to the dealership and the guy tells me "This is a very common problem with the Focus", I don't think they focused on much of anything when they made this piece of crap. Then he tells me its going to cost 450.00 maybe more because to get to the locks they have to take the door apart. I've never felt like torching a vehicle before but at that point I figured it'd probably be worth more. I ended up paying the 450.00 plus tax for a friggin DOOR HANDLE!!! More crap to say, new form.

door latchs not working door latchs not working door latchs not working door latchs not working door latchs not working

this is my second time doing a complaint on my back doors on my 2006 ford foucs, and the thing is that i have just found out through a friend who has an 2005 foucs, is that her car had a recall on the doors, everything that is wrong with her car is whats goin on with my car, and if these pics are not enough then i dont know what is.. its not safe at all, i cant even put my 3 yr old in the back seat and thats the only car that i have, so as you see in my pics, there are zip ties holding the doors shut and as of 7-3 -10 i am having to use two zip ties for each door..., and i have called my dealership and there is nothing they can do unless a recall, and well i cant aford to get it fix i am on a fixed income as well. so i hope that you take this into a big problem and make a recall on the doors.
