For this car to be a small car and not very powerful, it sure can use a lot of gas. I can fill it completely, and the gauge will read full, but only after driving a few minutes, the lever will no longer show as full. A few minutes?! That makes no sense!

Focus ZX4 SES 2.0L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,000 miles

I bought my focus brand new in 2006 and it has gotten horrible gas mileage every since. My car averages about 15 mpg in town and about 19mpg hwy. I have taken the car in to many different dealers with the problem and I keep getting told it must be in the way I drive my car. Perhaps I accelerate to fast or use the AC too much. I can understand poorer gas mileage when you do use the AC but my car isn't even 3 years old yet and 15/19 is Terrible in my opinion. I have also been told by Ford dealers that the mileage on the window sticker is just an estimate which I also understand but the window stick was WAY off compared to what the car actually gets. I was told by ford to do like the gas cap says and to use BP gas. That doesn't improve the mileage at all. I have even tried premium fuel and nothing. I DO NOT recommend the focus to anyone.

Been to dealership with this POS its costing as much as having big V8 in gas for this little 2.0L 4 cylinder motor 13 MPG!!!! and local dealership said it just needs to be broke in, it has over 30,000 miles on it already (dumb asses), plus while I am going off, you can not go to the local auto parts store and buy an air filter, you have to go back to the dealer ship to buy a air filter thats over $75 dollars, and I had to take it back to the dealership to have transmission fluid changed (basic transmission service) because no one that does it has the SPECIAL fittings to change it. it was $235 dollars to do it!!!!!
