CarComplaints.com Notes: Even though the first model year of a major redesign should typically be avoided, Ford did a good job & the 2008 Ford Focus doesn't appear to have any major defects.

That said, the following model years of this 2nd generation Focus (2009-2011) do appear to be slightly better.

Throttle stuck in the closed position. This happened several more times over the next couple years. Sometimes at highway speeds and sometimes at slow speeds. Most often in warmer weather.

Fuel gauge was showing nearly empty and the low fuel light was on. I placed 3.6 gallons of fuel into the tank, and the gauge showed that the fuel level was a slight bit under 1/2 tank. Vehicle has a 12 gallon gas tank; fuel gauge was showing an inaccurate level.
