I purchased this truck for my 16-year-old son. I thought a truck would be a safe purchase. In the first week, while driving the power steering went out with no warning, He almost wrecked The truck is currently in the shop and not sure of the cost, but hearing $2,200.00 I did some research and this problem has an issue for years. WTF! The response I'm getting from GMC is shameful. I knew better than to stray away from Ford.

Canyon SLT V6

The GMC dealer has no clue on what has caused the problem. I was driving up an entrance ramp when the power steering chime went off posting power steering has failed, then a message saying the stability control isn't functional. I drove to the dealer who also witnessed the error and the condition. We shut of the vehicle and restarted it, and it went away. Now this morning I started the truck, went in to get my phone and when I returned the same errors were present on the dash. I turned off the truck then restarted and it went away. So this time it happened while idling.

This isn't good, but NO ONE in GM knows what is going on. Maybe I need to buy foreign again, until they get engineers and mechanics that know how to diagnose and work on their vehicles??
