CarComplaints.com Notes: 1997 is the last model year in the 5th generation of Accord. Which means it's also the last model year before problems like widespread transmission failure, subframe rust and peeling paint took over.

Does the 1997 have problems? Sure it does. Any car this old will. Some owners say their engine started to cut out around 147,000 miles. That's still not bad, and getting to 200,000+ miles isn't out of the question.

Does anyone believe a newer Accord will reach 200,000 miles?

Dear honda ( headquarter), Dear. carcomplaints.com, I bought my Honda Accord ten years ago, and since that date, I have been trying to have my car checked in the Honda Sole Agent in Saudi Arabia but they ( Sole Agent ) always telling me that if you want to have your car checked, you MUST HAVE AN APPOINTMENT and after 30-40dayes call again for confirmation! At first I thought that I was calling a dentist not a car agent because they said (an appointment). Here are the conversation between me and Honda Sole Agent :- ( Honda Agent ) : Hello . Me : Hello, I would like to have my car checked please . ( Honda Agent ) : sorry we cant fix your car now please take an appointment and then after 30-40 days call again so give your car detailsname .. etc Me : why should I have to take an appointment. ( Honda Agent ) : sorry we dont have place for cars, the maintenance is full of cars waiting for service and all customers had an appointment so you have to be patient. Me : patient ! well you are the only and sole agent for Honda in my country and you sell cars to customers and now youre telling me that you cant fix my car because you dont have a space for it , ok but why you sell cars if you cant afford maintenance for them? So Im talking to Honda Headquarter : why do you let your Sole agent in Saudi Arabia do like this to your customers? There is no space for my car to be fixed! This is nonsense. Where should I go? What should I do right now? On the other hand, the Sole Agent doesnt care about customers, they even dont update their web site since 2001 ( imagine that theyre still showing 2001 model ), here are the web site address http://www.ahg.com. sa/ Sincerely Ali Ahmed
