CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014 Honda CR-V has a trend of engine hesitation when accelerating.

Honda has tried to fix this delayed acceleration with a software update, but many owners report it didn't fix the problem.

This defect trend is not quite bad enough yet for us to slap on the "Beware of the Clunker" seal. But it's a concern & definitely something to keep in mind for a test drive.

DPF light keeps coming on, was under extended warranty with Honda, they kept doing a forced regen. I had to pay £120 each time they did it, every few months at first, also oil level kept rising , told it was oil contamination due to doing short journeys, started taking car for a drive every week up the motorway for 30 minutes, didn’t solve problems, as soon as the warranty ran out Honda at Hull said there wasn’t any thing they could do unless I wanted a new DPF fitting at the cost of£2000.

I took it to do DPF repair and had it cleaner properly, DPF filter clean but still get oil contamination/ dilution so oil keeps getting high, only had it changed 45 day ago and the light is back on due to oil contamination again, common problem with Earth dream engine apparently, Honda need to sort this out, problem spoils a good car, but Honda just fob you off, terrible after sales, wish I’d stuck to petrol/ BMW
