CarComplaints.com Notes: Yes, the Honda Civic receives a lot of complaints because so many were sold. And sure, car parts only last so long and things eventually break. But it's never good to see this many transmission complaints, especially when the average mileage at failure is just north of 100,000 miles.
Especially when you consider that it's predecessor also has a nasty history with transmission complaints.

Have had this car for at least 6 years, bought used. The motor revs up on it's own when I stop and have my foot on brake. In past has happened so rarely couldn't believe it happened, but in the last 6 weeks it has happened 3 times. When looking up information about this see where on June 20 they are doing a recall for brake boosters (revved up motor) for other Honda years and models but not the 2002 Honda civic.
