CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2006 Honda Pilot is a solid trouble-free model year with no major problems reported, except for a minor trend of window regulator failure. However that's an easy fix of a few hundred dollars -- not a big inconvenience for an older vehicle, all things considered.

It just seems like this is a very common problem and I don't understand why it costs so much to have fixed. I called Honda Customer Care and cannot get them to call me back in a timely manner. The representative acted suprised that I had it fixed already! I am expected to drive around town with the window open and leave it out parked where anyone can get into it? Was I suppose to pay to rent a car I would be safer in and keep mine garaged? As a single woman living in a city, I bought my car for safety and I feel like honda feels this is just an annoyance issue and not a SAFETY issue. The dealership acted annoyed that I had called customer care and I cannot get my "case worker" to even call me back. It looks like I am just out $377 to replace a part on a window I never use. NICE!

My driver side, rear window fell down into the car with a loud bang!

The dealer says they can't cover it and Honda corporation is saying they can't help.

There are so many problems with this on the web that you would think a class action suit is in order.

This is twice this has happened to my car, the first time was terrible as my infant son was in the back seat and it was his window, i had it rolled down a bit for him to get some air and i hear this huge thunk, i look back and the window is all the way down. i could not get it back up, then this past weekend the other rear window did the same thing. It is not like a Honda is cheap car nor is the car that old.

Our drivers side rear window was rolled down by my daughter's friend to get some air, when we got home it wouldn't go up... got back in car, took to Honda... to have looked at .They said we had problems with the drivers door window but not the drivers rear back window ...that's strange .....we need to order the part and it will be 400.00 plus labor ..I said I cant afford that ....so I had them just un plug it and we don't use it ...I could understand if it was the drivers window we roll that down all the time ...we may have only rolled down the drivers rear window maybe.. 10 time since we bought it in 2006. There is no reason that part should have failed. This should be a recall part since others have had the same problem..

Update from Mar 3, 2011: Any one having problems with the window regulators .... call Honda and put in a formal complaint they will not do any recalls on this problem unless you file a complaint and open a case on it....because no on is doing this they don't think its a problem...We got Honda to split the cost for replacement but to help others please call and open a case make them aware of it,they need to see how many people it has affected.... don't just fix it and say forget it .....make them stand up and fix the problem.

window regulator failure window regulator failure window regulator failure window regulator failure window regulator failure

I went to roll down the driver side rear window and as it started I heard a pop and the window just slide all the way down, never to return. I went home and disassembled the door my self to see what had happened. I found this broken piece of plastic on the window regulator. This plastic is suppose to hold a small ball at the end of the cable that goes to the window motor. After reading other folks issues about the same thing, I had to leave a complaint. I have included pics of the plastic piece. This is CLEARLY a MANUFACTURE DEFECT and should be covered under warranty. I have never worked for Honda or any other auto manufacture, however I do build and work on Top Fuel Drag Cars and Boats. I know the difference between a defect from manufacture and from wear that is beyond "normal use".

I will be talking to my local Honda Dealer to get the issue resolved and if they won't help I sure as hell won't be giving them any more of my money. (I can and will fix this my self if I have to.)

Yesterday morning I noticed my rear passenger window was down. Attempted to roll it up, but it did not respond. This is the second time this has happened to the same vehicle. Except this time, it was the rear passenger window, instead of the rear driver side window. The windows NEVER are messed with, as they are constantly locked due to small children riding in the back. Honda needs to recall this crap!!

I can't believe this is happening again. This is my third window that has stopped working. This time it's the driver side window. I heard the tell tale noise as I rolled it down to get the mail, then it wouldn't roll up. It's stuck all the way down in the door. The dealer says there is no recall, but this doesn't seem right that this is the 3rd window this has happened with in 6 months. Anyone else have similar problems?

My driver's side rear window made an awful noise, wouldn't roll up or down and kept falling inside the door. Pretty inconvenient in AZ when it's 110 degrees and you can't roll the window up for AC to work. Took it to the dealer and $300 later it worked perfectly.

Not again!! My passenger side rear window stopped working, only 3 months after the other rear window needed repair. Too frustrating!!! Another $300 to repair. Can this be normal? I wouldn't think so.

As soon as I go to the Honda Dealer, I explain my issues.... a big POP sound and then the window slowly disappeared into the door. The guy says... "Ow, sounds like the window regulator." Hmm, seems like this is a constant thing if he knew exactly what it was? I asked if it would be covered by the warranty since it's not something that should be happening within 3 yrs of owning the vehicle, I'm the original owner. He said no.

I'll be writing into the Honda Corp to see if they may have pity on my sole and spare me some discount. This is ridiculous and DANG, just before Christmas!!!! UG! Well, I did have some money saved and I didn't know what to do with it!... AH! I'll get my window fixed!
