My 2019 Honda Pilot Elite has been having this issue for years, dating all the way back to 2021. I have replaced the battery TWICE. The car will be fine; I arrive at work etc. and shut it off and the next time I attempt to crank the car it will not crank and my dashboard lights up like Christmas. I've seen every error from Emission systems issues, transmission issues, blind spot info system issues, engine system problem, brake system problem.....after several attempts to crank without success, the battery finally drains and I have to be jumped off.
This has happened in the middle of an intersection at a red light and the car stalled and would not shift and we were almost rear ended. It also randomly does into snow mode and cannot be taken out until stopped completely and shut off and cranked again. This car has been a nightmare and Honda needs to be held liable for these issues that are widely known to be happening to new cars. I thought I was getting the most dependable SUV for my family bc Honda is known for that and that is absolutely NOT TRUE ANY LONGER!
Battery has been drained twice, once in our driveway where it was jumped. It ran fine for three weeks and then another time in a parking lot. I received a letter about a lawsuit that there have been issues with the infotainment system draining the battery, but the deadline for the lawsuit was in March and our problem started after this.
Update from Aug 14, 2025: Auto idle stop was fixed by the dealer twice and still runs intermittently. When driving down hill, stopped in traffic it randomly started working and my engine died twice. I could not restart it until I turned the engine completely off and restarted. This happened twice. After this I have been turning the auto idle stop button off manually and have no problems. If I forget I notice my transmission jerks.
