The suspension is dangerous in this car. My experience suggests the problem is in the rear suspension. The car "walks" or bounces laterally when hitting bumps at higher speeds (50+). My daughter was the primary driver and she describes it as very difficult to handle in windy conditions (very surprising for such a low-profile and well-contoured sedan). Hyundai should OFFER A FIX ASAP, before serious injury or deaths are pinned on this defect. As a middle-aged car dealer, I can easily say this is the most dangerous drivability problems I have experienced in a fairly new car (35K).

This has been an ongoing issue since I purchased the car new.

The issue is most apparent at 70mph on the highways in Michigan where there are many seams in the road. Every time the car crosses one of the lines across the road the rear end shifts to the side a little bit. This is also experienced at lower speeds on rough pavement.

The first time I took the car into the dealership, it was a different location than the one I purchased the car from. I was told that this is how I should expect the car to handle and they weren't planning on doing anything.

A few months later, I took the car to the dealership I purchased the car from. They found some sort of service bulletin to tighten some bolts in the rear suspension. I didn't bother getting the service number or more details but this made a dramatic improvement to the handling of the car.

The car continued to handle well until this spring when the roads were particularly rough. Now the issue with the poor handling has returned and the dealership has taken the stance that this is how the car is supposed to handle.

I've read that some aftermarket shock absorbers can address the issue but I believe this to be a manufacturers defect that should be addressed by them rather than costing me several hundreds of dollars to replace the factory suspension.
