I'm upset that car has been in the shop for two months and I still do not feel that it is safe to drive. Also upset that they let it go without being properly fixed. The first incident was scary. The transmission died while going 70 MPH on the interstate (I saw a post on here of the EXACT SAME ISSUE AT EXACT SAME MILEAGE AND MPH). I don't want this to happen to me again. It was scary once but I want a refund under the Lemon Law, this is crap.
Very surprising to have the transmission go on a brand new vehicle. I was hours away from home on a major, fast, busy highway in the middle of traffic when the car shifted into first and wouldn't come out. I put on flashers and got over, but it was hair raising. Initially a transmission control board notice lit up.
When it got to a dealership, they said I needed a whole new transmission. It took a full month to get fixed, and I am currently fighting Hyundai for full coverage of a rental car. I lost 2 days of work to deal with this, driving 2 1/2 hours each way to get my car, gas... In order for me to get PARTIAL rental reimbursement, Hyundai wants me to sign a waiver that says "release HMA from any liability with respect to any claim that HMA failed to conform the vehicle to warranty in connection with your concerns and the vehicle’s repair history to date. You also acknowledge that any such concerns have been resolved".
I just got it back, I do not know if it's resolved. And I now see that Hyundai has a history of transmission problems, so I want to find out if others are having a similar issue. If I panicked when this happened, I could have been killed.
