CarComplaints.com Notes: On August 16th, 2012 Jeep stopped production of the the Jeep Liberty, marking the end of a troublesome journey for the SUV.

All in all, the 2012 Liberty actually excels off-road, but since 99% of drivers never take this thing off pavement, that becomes somewhat of a moot point. The Liberty suffers from the worst fuel economy in its class (16/22 MPG) and offers an uncomfortable ride with suspect braking ability.

After all the issues with my 2012 Jeep, I researched on line and discovered that the 2012 Liberty has a reputation of having chronic electrical problems!! My side mirrors do not work, my dashboard lights clicker, locks do not work consistently, gas gage does not read!! Each one of these problem happened one after the other. I know it would be a matter of time before the power would shut off while I am on the road, and that fear has been confirmed in the numerous complaints I read on line. I purchased this Jeep, which is my second Jeep (former was 1992 year model), because I like the brand!! Jeep's irresponsible non response in NOT RECALLING THIS MODEL is costing loyal consumers, like you and me; time, money and safety. With these electrical defects, each time we get in our Jeep we put our families, and ourselves, in grave danger on the road.

As a result of these electrical issues with my 2012 Jeep, I will write and lodge a complaint with my Attorney General!!! A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ENACTED!!!! Those who have no other recourse but to pay for repairs on this very expensive vehicle, should be reimbursed for any repairs for which Jeep is really responsible!!! I think you each should do the same and write to your Attorney General to force Jeep to make the right and responsible repairs for their consumers!! Jeep MUST RECALL THIS VEHICLE and RECTIFY THE DEFECTS to make their customers financially whole, safe and confident on the road!!
