I have read several on-line complaints from other 2007 Altima owners concerning the faulty/corroded brake switch, but did not see a recall on it from Nissan. This car has already had 4 recalls and if this problem is as common as it appears they need to fix it too. I spend two hours a day on the road. Most of that time is on the interstate. It is one thing the car did not want to start yesterday, but when the brakes locked up today I was very lucky I was only doing 30 mph and not doing 70mph on the interstate. I was able to pull over almost immediately but I could smell the brakes burning. I would probably have wrecked if it happened on the interstate. It felt like I had slammed on the brakes when it happened, but my foot was on the accelerator. I have now read that both problems relate to the faulty brake switch and seem to be common on the 2007 Altima. People need to know about this so they can check or replace the switch before someone ends up getting hurt.
