My mechanic noticed this on 9/30/16, and told me this is fairly common in older altimas (2002-2006) Mine is a loaded 2008 3.5 SL with 85000 miles. Newest and most expensive car I have ever owned, bought in 2011 and expected to last me 10 years. Online searches have told that this problem is fairly wide spread, and class action law suits are pending. Remember when Toyota BOUGHT BACK Tacoma trucks due to a rust issue? Nissan fails to acknowledge it!! UNBELIEVABLE !! This was the first non-American car I have bought and probably the last. SCREW YOU NISSAN. I thought this was a quality manufacturer. Apparently not.
