CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2004-2006 Nissan Maxima has widespread transmission problems. It starts with the vehicle jerking when shifting, & progresses to full-blown transmission failure.

Maxima owners report spending $3,000 to replace the transmission, typically around when the odometer hits 100,000 miles.

There's a class action lawsuit filed in late 2011, & it is still in the "discovery" stage. Apparently, these things take time ... far too much time.

The 2006 Maxima design is nice and overall. I only had to repair normal maintenance issues, but I just noticed the driver side window want go up or down. I started to hear a usual noise before it stopped completely. I think it is a defect and the manufacturer should be responsible. I need help with the repair ASAP!!!!!!

I owned a 2004 Nissan Altima for 5yrs, I had trouble with the power windows getting stuck while coming up and going down but my husband ended up wrecking it so November 2013 I had to buy me another car. I purchased a 2006 Nissan Maxima and 3 days after I drove it off the car lot, I started having trouble with the power windows getting stuck while rolling them up and down. I am now convinced that it's not just a coincidence that I have bad luck with windows on both the Altima and the Maxima. I know that it's a defect on Nissan's but the windows are not a recall but really need to be.

I really like driving my Nissan but I'm very frustrated because I purchased a car with power windows for a reason, so that I don't have to manually roll my windows up and down. I'm suppose to be able to touch a button!
