CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2011 Nissan Maxima is a good reliable vehicle overall. There's a slight trend of transmission failure just before 100,000 miles, but not widespread enough to be a major concern. Beware of Maximas from 2009-2010, and 2004-2006 though.
The 2009-2010 Maxima has an expensive problem where the steering lock prevents the car from starting, & costs upwards of $1,000 to fix.
Nissan Maximas from 2004-2006 have a widespread transmission defect, but judging from our complaint data, Nissan fixed the transmission problem starting with the 2007 model.
I have a crack in the windshield that started at the bottom underneath the plastic molding. It has spread across the middle of the window and is moving toward the top of the windshield.
And here we go again, YEP windshield #2 that just MYSTERIOUSLY CRACKED!!!! This time it was at the bottom of the windshield below the rearview mirror. The crack started at the seal. I contacted the glass company, thinking perhaps installation. They contacted Nissan who says...ohhh no reports of issues with windshields. The glass installer replaced the windshield at no charge, a 600.00 windshield. We have concluded should this happen a 3rd time, Nissan definitely has a problem with the stress/ body structure.
i didn't complete even 1 month after paying 36,000 $
the class cracked with no reason it was parked and noticed this issue in the morning
i toke the car to the dealer and they said it is because of stone hit - loooooooool
there is no prove of what they said and they told me to not worry as the car is insured -
but for me i really feel upset and not satisfied because nissan makes millions by lowering the quality and raising the prices and the only loser is the end users which i am one of them
