rear bumper side stay adhesive is not holding part on well

The prior models of the Nissan Maxima do not have a side stay (or whatever this part is). It is only bolted into the back part of the bumper next to the wheels, but then the part wraps around the corner of the bumper on each side (for looks, I guess). The part that wraps around is the area that is coming unglued. Why would you have a part on a car that is not molded in? Why would you just adhesive a bumper part on??? That is calling for trouble. Ted Russell Nissan tried to glue the part back on (on the left and right side of the bumper both), but only caused it to look dirty where they placed the additional adhesive.

This is so ridiculous and if Nissan wants to fix the problem they should mold the part into the bumpers on not even put in on there. I would rather have the older model bumper on my car rather than having this issue.

Update from Oct 11, 2013: Adding pictures of issue since Ted Russell Nissan tried to fix it.
