When traveling with the cruise control on, it is very difficult to engage the brakes. It's like the cruise control doesn't disengage the instant the brakes are applied, as one would expect or need in an emergency stop. Even when I slam on the brakes, there is a hesitation before deceleration begins.

This could easily cause an accident if someone suddenly swerved in front of me.
