While driving on the interstate with 2 infants in cars seats as well as 3 other adults the vehicle lost power. It would not accelerate. Within minutes the steering was stiff and was extremely difficult to turn. Pulled off the interstate and onto a side road. The vehicle finallt decellerated to a full stop. Turned it off and restarted a few moments later. Vehicle ran again but no steering. Popped the hood and looked and no power steering fluid in the well. Added fluid and steered ok till 4 blocks from my house at which time the steering acting up again and not accelerating no matter how far you push the pedal. Turned it off and restarted again. Steering not working but accelerated enough to park it at home. Took to my mechanic but says he cannot look at it until Wednesday. Was so scared cause had the grandbabies in the van.

Had the vehicle since 2004 as the original owner. Vehicle has not been in an accident. Heard a loud clunk when driving after removing foot from brake and after going over bumps. Turned out the metal subframe of the vehicle has completely rusted out and separated from the frame of the vehicle. The steering crossarms and ball joint are loose because of this. It's a $4000 repair and car has only 120K miles. Had to get new car. Dealer said it's not safe to even drive and not worth fixing.

Bad vibration when braking, changed rotors and pads on front brakes seem to make the problem less but after a period of time a clunking noise 5000 miles was starting to be heard. Control arm ball joint on right side had excessive play and was replaced, but that did not get ride of the shudder in the braking situation. Told it was warped brakes, replaced break rotors and pads 1000 miles. Still no difference in the shudder is still there rotated the tires no difference in the shudder. I had new tires in the car when the right front wheel fell off. No stud-lugs could be found and major damage to front fender and bumper. Our au pair driver reported a noise coming from somewhere but visual inspection did not indicate where the problem was. Continued to drive when the noise became louder pull off interstate to shoulder at about 15 mph tile fell off. Body and mechanical work will be done. To correct the problem.

It is in the shop right now for issues with handling, the liftgate arm coming out of the door, ABS, slip, traction lights are on all the time, cruise control is inoperable, rear wiper assembly has broken for the second time, front washer fluid is not working. Most notably are the issues with the liftgate and handling. We took the vehicle into the dealer several months ago for both issues. Our liftgate would never open on the first try. They checked into it and kept the vehicle for several days. We were given a rental and told they would pay for it and in the end they charged our credit card for it. They had a tech from Nissan fly out to look at it. They informed us that they were waiting on parts. We picked up the vehicle and never heard from them again. The other day I went out to open the door. It had pulled the molding loose and I could see metal shavings at the end of the strut. We have had it in with complaints about the handling before. We suspected that the rotors were to blame. Every time we brought this up we were told that wasn't the case. We were told to replace the brakes to solve the issue. We then replaced all four tires. Nothing has solved the problem. When driving on the highway the steering wheel shakes and the vehicle shudders when the brakes are applied. It has been doing this since approximately 15,000 miles. The ac blow hot if you sit for more than a few minutes with the engine running. If you rev the engine, it just blows hotter. You have to drive around for several minutes to get the ac to blow cold again. We are less than happy with Nissan's customer service. We have called them several times and emailed and have had no resolution on any complaint. We have been told by them that a rep will call us and it has never happened.

There is a vibration in the steering wheel of this vehicle, it is very noticeable when making a turn and the wheel is returning between the 11:00 and 1:00 position. Also when driving around town, speeds no more than 55 mph, the steering wheel will shake. Dealer has rotated and balanced tires, and match mounted. I went to Goodyear and paid for them to do the same. The vibration still exist. I just picked the vehicle up from the dealer today,10/21/05, and the vibration is still there and I picked up the vehicle and the interior was full of grease, on the door and drivers side rug.

The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Quest. There have been several problems, such as unidentified noises that came from the rear of the vehicle. When applying brakes at red lights the car will respond by accelerating. When driving through turns or an intersection the car responded in third gear instead of first. The doors vibrated as if they will open by themselves. The vehicle has been to the dealer numerous times, which was most often deemed normal by the Nissan dealer. Also, the steering wheel made noises. This was discovered by Nissan after complaining three times, and a manufacturer's representative who duplicated the problem and found a broken plastic piece within the steering. This vehicle was under lemon law investigation. The dealer was unable to provide any explanations as to why these problems occurred. There have been multiple corrections, at least ten times. Recently there was a recall on the second row seats, but recall repairs could not be performed until December 2005.

Nissan Quest 2004 service engine soon light on and problems with steering. The service engine soon light had come on 3 times, creaking was felt in the steering wheel and or the front end, sounds were heard coming from the engine compartment, computer tire monitor indicated a flat tire and or low tire pressure during cold weather, the vehicle would run for five minutes then go up to 4 degrees higher (over inflated), when the weather was warm, the setting would then be above 40 psi which was dangerous to drive if not adjusted (incorrect results on the display), SRS light had come on after recall campaign #04V103000 was performed, driver's side power window was intermittent, sliding doors made loud bump noise when opened all the way, especially on inclines, heat outlets located on the floor behind the first row seat can't be controlled by the passenger rear controls, the dome lights were not working, the door rattled, the drivers side front window would not move, the window switch has an open circuit, the vehicle was jerking upon acceleration at 30 mph, rear heater was blowing cold air, there was a heavy grinding noise when the vehicle was first started after sitting for more than one hour along with the power steering, transmission fluid leaked a reddish/purple fluid on the garage floor, the interior lights were inoperative and there was an evaporation leak.
