CarComplaints.com Notes: An increasing number of Toyotas are experiencing excessive oil consumption and the 2007 Camry seems to be leading the charge.

Owners are reporting that their engines are deprived of oil halfway through their maintenance schedules and in some cases the damage is so bad that entirely new engines need to be installed, paid out of pocket. The issue may be a result of defective piston rings.

Toyota has issued a TSB for this problem, but maintains their stance that vehicles equipped with a 2AZ-FE engine are burning through a “normal” amount of oil.

Top clear coat is peeling off all over the car. Very annoying and feel awful to look at my car. Maintained car very good. Engine is perfect. Hope Toyota company fixes its problem.

The clear coat peels off in huge chunks and creates sharp edges through the paint. I’m actually afraid of cutting myself when I wash the car.

My mother -in-law passed away in November 2017 and we picked her car up and found that the paint and clear coat is peeling and faded.

We contacted the dealer and they said the offer to re paint has expired. We contacted Toyota and they said sorry can not help you. So here we are with a car that has a bad paint problem. Hoping you may be able to help us get this car repaired by Toyota.

Clear coat on roof around the ceiling window is blistering and peeling. Took it to a body shop for an estimate, they aren't sure what is causing it. Their best guess is that it looks like a chemical peel?! Last month I just had a professional detailer clean and wax the car for the first time. He says he only used wax on it and did not use the process of "cutting it."

The clear coat that covers the paint is peeling. It started off small and now it had taken over the passenger side over the door to the back of the car and now there is an area on the trunk where the paint is starting to peel.

Love my Camry and the bright blue color, but the clear coat has started to peel on the roof. It looks horrible. Is there anything I can do to fix/stop it?

While I was washing the car I noticed on the hood of the car a funny shadowing. I dried it and looked closer to see the clear coating missing and small rust spots and I notices this happening on the top of car as well. I can see its getting larger. To date it looks like something is eating up paint job.

white paint dull no car coat

2oo7 camry paint looks dull. Asks toyota about it for 2 years. Of course they say its because we don't wax it, not true. I see others have had the same problems with the paint. White paint on 2007 camry needs to be recalled.

THE PAINT (BLACK) LOOKS TERRIBLE. NO SHINE. BUMPERS HAVE AN ORANGE PEEL LOOK AND A GRAY TONE TO THEM. THE DETAILER SAID ALL OF THE TOYOTAS LOOK LIKE THIS. HE SEE' S THIS PROBLEM ALL THE TIME. RUSTED WHEELS, CRAPPY PAINT, THE CAR LOOKS LIKE IT'S 10 YEARS OLD! IT'S A 2007. NEVER AGAIN!
