CarComplaints.com Notes: An increasing number of Toyotas are experiencing excessive oil consumption and the 2007 Camry seems to be leading the charge.
Owners are reporting that their engines are deprived of oil halfway through their maintenance schedules and in some cases the damage is so bad that entirely new engines need to be installed, paid out of pocket. The issue may be a result of defective piston rings.
Toyota has issued a TSB for this problem, but maintains their stance that vehicles equipped with a 2AZ-FE engine are burning through a “normal†amount of oil.
i am living in uae , i pushed this Camry car in 2007,i found that rust started to appear on the top last edge from the rear glasses by the full length of the rear glass side at November 2007 and also i found that rust already existing in the rear door rain groove, i went to the agency on December 2009, they accepted the car after one month because they claimed that they have to get the approval from there head quarter , then after 18 days they repaired only the rust on the rear glass side and forget to repair as they claimed the other rust places , when i asked them they said that by mistake they forgot it and i have to keep the car again for another 18 days to be done, which i refused and i took the car.
now the situation is same and i am not certain weather there are another hidden areas which has rust or not ,plus the existing place which has been not cured till today , my millage now is 93000 km and i don't know weather this is a production defect or its a normal complaints, kindly advice.
