CarComplaints.com Notes: An increasing number of Toyotas are experiencing excessive oil consumption and the 2007 Camry seems to be leading the charge.

Owners are reporting that their engines are deprived of oil halfway through their maintenance schedules and in some cases the damage is so bad that entirely new engines need to be installed, paid out of pocket. The issue may be a result of defective piston rings.

Toyota has issued a TSB for this problem, but maintains their stance that vehicles equipped with a 2AZ-FE engine are burning through a “normal” amount of oil.

My 2007 Toyota Camry lr ABS system is not working, I read numerous complaints (over 197 complaints with this problem on 2007 Camry le's) to your site with same problem: Warning lights, speedometer needle at "0", etc. Cost to replace ABS system over $2,500. Someone said the ABS was only to prevent skids and even though speedometer is not showing speed, that no other problem such as sudden stop, or brake failure, etc would happen, complaints on your site show that other problems, can result, what can we do? my car mileage is 79,899. This is a continuing problem started approx. August 2017 - -

I have a 2007 Toyota Camry that has intermittent instrument cluster problems. Odometer does not increment miles traveled. The speedometer and tachometer will cease to indicate proper readings and drop to zero. The tachometer will then bounce between zero and what I can only assume is a close approximation of the actual engine RPM. At the same time, the ABS and parking brake warning lights illuminate and stay on for the duration of the "episode".

Basically the ABS actuator it's failing like in the hybrid model but are not covered by the Toyota extended warranty which is completely unfair as the part failing it's the same basic ABS part but on different non-electric variant

My brake and ABS lights come on intermittent. When the two lights come on the speedometer stops working and it's difficult to brake. My local Toyota dealership stated that my ABS actuator/ABS module is going out. This is the same year, make, and model of cars that people lost there lives due to brake issue. Toyota refuses to acknowledge and repair this issue.

On highway at 65 mph, speedometer needle suddenly dropped to zero at same time ABS and brake lights lit up on dash. After a few minutes, ABS and brake dash lights turned off at the same time speedometer needle jumped back to current speed indication. No loss of power either way, but has been cycling between for the past week. Not limited to specific speeds of amount of time engine has been running, as it occurs at various speeds and various times.

The short circuiting of the ABS actuator has hit me too. This happened on 03/22/2017 to my 2007 Camry le. It first came up when I was waiting at a red light. The ABS and brake light came up and even when the car started moving, the speedometer wasn't moving. I took the vehicle to the service center and was told that the ABS actuator needs to be replaced. It is going to cost me $2500. I do not want to spend almost half of the car's worth on replacing this part when I won't be surprised if another part blows up. Looks like this is a very common issue with the 2007 Camry model. I am surprised that Toyota is not extending the warranty offered to the hybrid model to the non hybrid one. This is indeed a manufacturing issue and should be fixed. Or is it going to take a few accidents before Toyota accepts its fault. Fuel gauge, tacometer, speedometer don't work NHTSA action number: PE14001 covers just hybrid model however the it's the same same part: Brake actuator

Brake booster failure. Daughter drove car and applied brakes quickly to stop vehicle. Brakes felt abnormal and vehicle collided with rear end of another vehicle on a city street. Drove vehicle after collision and brakes seemed to be working ok. 7 weeks later daughter was driving vehicle and had total sudden brake failure. Vehicle brought to dealership and service tech said it was most likely a brake booster failure and would be over $1000 to repair. Vehicle brought to private mechanic for further assessment.

ABS actuator problem: My 2007 Toyota Camry has a failed ABS actuator. This will cost me $2,000 to replace. The ABS and brake warning lights lit up on the dashboard and the tachometer started fluctuating wildly, so I had it towed to the dealer. I have had the car for 9.5 years and it has about 78,000 miles on it, so I believe the original part should have lasted longer. I am aware of the ABS actuator problems on the 2007-08 Camry hybrid models, so I think you should investigate the ABS actuators on the regular Camry models too.

Car was recently shipped from overseas. When I got my car, the dash lights will not go off, the ABS motor will not shut off causing my battery to drain constantly, speedometer will not work, gas gauge moves slow, engine shakes and feels like it is going to cut off. My 2007 Toyota Camry is having ABS and brake lights on, and this seems to be a safety hazard, mileage on the car is 138000. I have heard from many people, also this can be seen in carcomplaints.com that this situation is commnly seen on 2007 Toyota Camry. This seems to be a manufacturing defect. I feel very unsafe to drive this car, but I cannot afford to repair this as I study that the repair cost is high. Do I need to suffer this loss since I bought Camry or can Toyota recall this and provide free service
